How to reach Phong Nha
From Hanoi or Ninh Binh
Train to Dong Hoi
- Cost: 700,000–800,000 VND (2nd class sleeper)
- Duration: ~10 hours
Opt for the overnight soft-sleeper (4-berth) for comfort. Day trains offer scenic views of rural Vietnam. Dong Hoi is the nearest station; from there, it’s a 45-minute transfer to Phong Nha.
Bus to Phong Nha
- Note: Sleeper buses are budget-friendly but can be uncomfortable and less safe, especially at night. Some buses go directly to Phong Nha, eliminating the need for a transfer from Dong Hoi.
From Da Nang or Hoi An
Sleeper Bus
